CANINE REHABILITATION AND FITNESS Where we do what we love: Centrally located at 40-1580 Taylor Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba; the Centre is a 3553 ft2 facility that houses a large padded dryland rehabilitation gym complete with a jog-a-dog treadmill, a veterinary office equipped for massage, chiropractic and acupuncture treatments, a Hudson Aquapaws underwater treadmill, and an inground 20’x 25’ warm water pool with two easy access ramps into the water. Ideal candidate's qualifications should include: a minimum of two years of RVT experience including animal restraint and lifting, animal care, client communications, excellent software skills, previous intermediate level knowledge of creating and maintaining social media sites, channels and best practices, digital records/computer software, stocking/inventory, client/patient admission and invoicing/cashiering. A strong interest in rehabilitation therapy is a definite asset. About the position: Reporting to the President, the RVT will work under the direct supervision of a veterinarian to provide, support and maintain the components of the patient care plan including: • therapeutic exercises, underwater treadmill therapy and tank maintenance; • soft tissue work, use of therapeutic modalities, client education; • veterinary nursing care or other duties as required; • perform complete digital medical record keeping and documentation as appropriate; • work an established schedule with flexibility according to daily clinic needs; • work effectively and efficiently with the veterinarian and support staff as well as working independently; • physical strength and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. After successfully completing probation, the candidate will receive Canine Hydrotherapy Certification training through Greyfiars in the UK. A valid passport and commit to travel overseas for 2-3 weeks is a requirement.
